“I have been going to ProGrin Dental for years. When they opened iGrin Pediatric Dentistry, I decided to take my children there for their dental appointments. I’m so glad I made that decision because it makes things so much more convenient for us. I’ve always recommended ProGrin to my friends, and now I recommend iGrin as well!”

Preventative Care
The problem:
Our solution:
As your dentist in Boiling Springs and Powdersville, the iGrin team has an extreme focus on preventative dentistry. We can solve a lot of dental issues before they pose as bigger problems. Additionally, we use the most conservative approach. In turn, this leads to happier and healthier smiles. What can you expect?
We strive to make every visit a pleasant experience for you and your child. A comprehensive exam allows us to evaluate your children’s current oral and overall health. This exam includes taking full x-rays, determining their risk for periodontal disease and tooth decay, and evaluating their bite and jaw alignment. We’ll also discuss with you about habits, diets, and dental health to create a plan of action.
After our thorough exam, our friendly hygienists will perform an easy cleaning to remove tartar, plaque, deposits, and any stains from your child’s teeth. We use modern technologies to ensure your child is comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process.
Full digital x-rays will be taken during the exam for proper diagnosis. We’ll be able to spot and treat problems that tend to go unnoticed with the naked eye.
Are digital x-rays safe? Absolutely! Thanks to the advancements in technology, digital x-rays reduce radiation exposure by 90%.
During your exam, we’ll provide tips and tricks for your child’s at-home care routine. We highly encourage everyone (including parents!) to brush, floss, and use mouthwash every single day.
Brushing: Brush your teeth every morning and night for optimal results. To properly brush your teeth, be sure to:
- Place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle along the gum line.
- Move the toothbrush in a circular motion for each tooth.
- Do this motion for the outside, inside, and chewing surfaces of your teeth.
- Brush gently. Brushing too hard may lead to gum recession.
- Brush your tongue to remove odor bacteria.
Flossing: Flossing takes care of the 30% of your mouth that brushing may have missed. To properly floss your teeth, be sure to:
- Use about 18-24 inches of dental floss
- Wrap the ends of the floss around your middle and index fingers.
- Move the floss back and forth between each tooth in a C shape.
Mouthwash: Be sure to use alcohol-free mouthwash to combat bad breath and give your mouth that extra cleanliness. We also recommend using ADA-approved mouthwash for optimal results.
Composite Fillings
The problem:
Our solution:
Since our fillings are tooth colored, they will closely match with your child’s tooth color. Also, it requires less removal of natural tooth structure, saving the integrity of the tooth.
Metal-free fillings still require some removal of the natural tooth to stop the cavity from growing. Don’t worry! We’ll do everything in our power to ensure your child is comfortable throughout the entire treatment.
Sedation Dentistry
The problem:
Our solution:
Sedation dentistry can ease dental anxiety by helping your child feel relaxed and taking his or her mind off the tasks at hand.
We offer:
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) at both iGrin locations
- Oral sedation and general anesthesia/IV sedation at our Powdersville location.
Sedation dentistry is safe and effective. It has helped countless children – and adults – overcome dental anxiety to receive the dental care they need and deserve.
With nitrous oxide, your child will breathe through a mask and feel at ease immediately. He or she may not even remember the appointment. We’re able to control the amount of gas your child intakes, and it will wear off quickly.
For patients with dental fear or in need of multiple treatments, oral sedation and general anesthesia may be more suitable. Oral sedation and general anesthesia are administered by our highly trained Powdersville dental team, who will closely monitor your child throughout the appointment.
To see if sedation dentistry is right for your child, contact us today!
Nitrous oxide may not be suitable for children who have extreme dental fear. In which case, oral sedation or general anesthesia may be more effective.
The effects of oral sedation are not immediate, unlike nitrous oxide and general anesthesia. Additionally, sedation dentistry is not a substitute for local anesthesia.
Rest assured, we want your child to have the perfect kiddo experience. We will work with you to find a sedation method or treatment plan that works best for your child.
“The office is absolutely gorgeous and their location is convenient to my kids’ school. I don’t have to get them out of school early anymore for dental appointments because the office is literally right there!”

Space Maintainers
The problem:
Our solution:
Space maintainers allow permanent teeth come into place. Without it, the child’s teeth can shift into the open space, disrupting the permanent tooth’s placement. This could lead to future orthodontic treatment.
The child may feel discomfort when the space maintainer is placed. It takes a few days for the child to get accustomed to wearing the appliance.
Baby Root Canal (Pulpotomy)
The problem:
Our solution:
This treatment is the last resort to saving a baby tooth to ensure the proper growth of permanent teeth.
The child may have some soreness and discomfort after the treatment. However, it will subside and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
“You know you are receiving the best care from the second you walk into the office. As a mother, it gives me peace of mind knowing that my children’s dental health is top priority for the doctors and staff at iGrin. They take the time to explain things to me in a way that not only myself, but my children understand.”

Dental Crowns
The problem:
Our solution:
Crowns are an excellent solution to save a severely decayed tooth. It will restore the tooth back to its full function and strength. Plus, we can blend the crown with the smile, so hardly anyone will know you received treatment.
While crowns are strong and stable, it is still crucial to maintain excellent dental care. They will not protect your child’s smile from gum disease.
Extractions
The problem:
Our solution:
While pulling a tooth out may seem scary, it will benefit your child in the long run. We even have solutions you can pursue after the extraction – ask us the next time you visit us!
An extraction will remove a tooth from the mouth, leaving a gap. There are solutions we can pursue to help your child receive the best smile he or she will be proud of.
BRACES
The problem:
Our solution:
Starting orthodontic work young helps to make sure that everything is growing properly and prevents further damage in the long run. Having an all-in-one dentist and orthodontist is a plus!
Braces take a lot to maintain and can take months to years to achieve the right results. You child will come into our office every month for their orthodontic appointment.
