Having dental work done may not seem like the most fun idea ever. But there are some plus sides when it comes to the snacks you get to eat without feeling guilty. So to help you and your child out, we have come up with a list of our iGrin dentist’s favorite snacks after dental treatment. We’ve also given you an awesome smoothie recipe that your child is sure to love.

To know what your child should not eat, remember this saying, “don’t munch on anything that burns, sticks, or makes a crunch.” But, don’t worry about what you can’t eat; worry about what you CAN eat!

Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

Smoothies are a great way to get in the nutrients from fruits and vegetables while tasting great at the same time. Place all of these next ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Make sure you serve the smoothie in a small open cup without a straw when your child has just had dental treatment. Another fun way to mix up with recipe is to add the mixture into ice trays with popsicle sticks to make for a fun homemade popsicle.

  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats uncooked
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup frozen strawberries or 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 3/4 cup frozen mango
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice dairy, almond, etc.

We hope that your child has a smooth transition after their dental treatment. Hopefully, this list will help continue to make your child feel comfortable while at home.
